BCAA supplements at VNMshop

BCAAs are a group of three long chain amino acids. These three are called essential amino acids because we must get them from food. It involves the following three amino acids:

  • leucine;
  • Isoleucine;
  • Valine.

Many strength athletes use BCAA supplements to stimulate muscle growth and improve training performance. Some also use them for weight loss and for reducing fatigue after a workout.

VNMshop has a wide range of BCAA supplements. Are you looking for a product that meets your needs? Here you can read all about these amino acids, so you can make a good choice.

What are BCAAs?

BCAAs consist of three essential amino acids:

  • leucine;
  • Isoleucine;
  • Valine.

These three amino acids are considered a group because they are the only amino acids that branch to one side in a chain. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins, which in turn form the building blocks of our body. All our cells, muscles, organs, etc. are made by proteins. BCAAs are considered essential because we must consume them through diet. Non-essential amino acids are produced by our body itself.

What do amino acids do?

BCAAs take up a large part of all amino acids in the body. Of all essential amino acids in the body, 35 to 40% are BCAAs. The percentage in our muscles is between 14 and 18%.

Most amino acids are broken down in the liver, but with BCAAs this happens in the muscles. That is why these amino acids are believed to play an important role in energy production during exercise. In addition to energy production, BCAAs play other roles in the body. The body can use them in building muscle. In addition, they are involved in regulating blood sugar levels. They do this by maintaining the sugar supply in the liver and muscles. It stimulates cells to remove sugar from the bloodstream.

The body gets tired during exercise, which is a logical consequence. BCAAs help reduce this fatigue by lowering serotonin production. This substance is produced in the brain.

The BCAA leucine is most important for building protein for muscle growth. Isoleucine and valine are involved in producing energy and regulating blood sugar levels.

Reduce fatigue during exercise

Do you want to be able to keep training hard despite fatigue? Consuming BCAAs can help reduce mental and physical fatigue.

Reduce muscle pain

BCAAs can also assist you in reducing muscle soreness after exercise. Hard training produces certain enzymes in the blood that are involved in muscle damage: creatine kinase and lactate dehydrogenase. BCAAs lower the blood level of these enzymes, which can speed up recovery, and also offers protection against muscle damage and muscle breakdown.

Build more muscle mass

Some athletes who buy BCAA supplements do so to increase their muscle mass. After all, BCAA enzymes are involved in building muscle. However, it is still best to get protein through food. Are you looking for a supplement to supplement your protein needs? For muscle building, it is better to opt for a protein powder such as whey or casein. These contain all essential amino acids and even more important nutrients.

Lowering blood sugar

BCAAs can also help maintain normal blood sugar levels. Leucine and isoleucine ensure that the muscles absorb more sugar from the blood, which lowers the blood sugar level.

Improve weight loss

Would you like to lose weight? Then you will have to prevent weight gain and stimulate fat loss. Branched-chain amino acids can help with that. People who get an average of 15 grams of BCAA from their diet every day have a 30% lower risk of being overweight than people who consume an average of 12 grams per day.

When do you use a BCAA supplement?

Do you want to take extra BCAA supplements for extra energy, building muscle or for weight loss? The best time to take a BCAA supplement is immediately before, during and/or after training. Strength athletes who want to build more muscle mass also often take them in the morning and just before going to sleep. It is best to follow the instructions on the product packaging. Also pay close attention to the stated dosage, never take more than this amount.

BCAAs from food

If you follow a good diet, you will always get enough protein. You don't actually need to take any supplements. You can get BCAAs from the following food sources:

  • meat, poultry and fish;
  • beans and lentils;
  • Dairy products such as cheese and milk
  • Tofu and tempeh;
  • Eggs;
  • Quinoa;
  • Nuts and seeds.

However, it can be difficult for serious athletes and strength athletes to meet their protein needs. In those cases, a supplement is recommended.
